Mr. Mario C. Gugliotti passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.
Born on July 10, 1946, in Morcone, Italy, Mario was the beloved son of the late Armando and Yolanda (Santonofrio) Gugliotti. He carried with him the strong values of family, hard work, and devotion that defined his life.
Mario met and married the love of his life, Roseann (Colella) Gugliotti, and together they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their bond was a true testament to commitment and devotion.
Mario dedicated 43 years of his professional life as a manager at Stop & Shop. After retiring from Stop & Shop, he continued working as a manager at ShopRite, where he remained a respected leader and friend to many. His strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Outside of work, Mario embraced life fully. He was an avid bowler who proudly bowled in numerous leagues at Lakewood and Lessard Lanes. He was an avid Giants football fan. Bocce was another sport he excelled in and loved playing with friends and family. Mario took immense pride in his home, always keeping his yard and landscaping meticulous and immaculate- a reflection of his attention to detail and pride in everything he did.
Family was at the center of Mario’s world. He cherished annual vacations to Myrtle Beach, where he created countless treasured memories with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was playing games, sharing meals, or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments meant everything to him. His grandchildren especially held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in every laugh and every game played together. Mario also enjoyed trips to the casino, playing card games, watching his favorite Westerns, and spending time with his loyal dog, Max. He valued his daily gatherings with his Dunkin Donuts Crew, where coffee was shared alongside stories, laughter, and lifelong friendships.
Mario will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, steady presence, and deep love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, hard work, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roseann Gugliotti; daughters Laurie Parrino and her husband Mark of Prospect and Tina LaRiviere and her husband Christopher of Waterbury, his cherished grandchildren: Eric Collodel, Tyler Collodel and his wife Brianna, Kyle LaRiviere, Joshua LaRiviere and his fiancé Nayely, Brandon Parrino and his wife Amanda, and great grandchildren: Luca, Liam and Wyatt, Callie and Olivia. Mario is also survived by his brother Frank Gugliotti and his wife of Watertown, brothers in law Richie Colella, Vic Colella and Henry Gauthier as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Carmela Ciarlo and Vickie Guerrera and sisters in law Irene Rosa, Margaret Colella and Elaine Gauthier and brother in law David Colella.
Friends and family are invited to visit with Mario’s family on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Prospect Memorial / The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7pm. Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and to care for Mario’s family throughout their grief journey.
