Ernest N. Dyer

It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest “Ernie” Dyer, age 76, of Waterbury, Connecticut, announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Saint Mary’s Hospital/VITAS.

Ernie was born on August 26, 1949, in Portland, Maine to the late Esther (Smith) Fasano. He served in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam and was a member  of the VFW Post 7330.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 46 years, Sharon (Galauskas) Dyer. his son, Justin Dyer of Waterbury; and his daughter, Jennifer Dyer of Waterbury. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Fasano and wife Cheryl; his sisters, Donna Boucher, Amber Shadrick, and Penny DiMichele; grandsons; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Esther (Smith) Fasano, and his brother-in-law, Albert Shadrick. 

Honoring Ernie’s wishes, there will be no services. We ask that his buddies simply have a drink and remember him.
